De-sensing..my first experience with
the FT2
Another easy one…..I asked permission to park the car at the farmhouse at SJ 297 568. Val stayed to talk to the farmer’s wife who was working in the garden. I was up on top in no time and the Yaesu FT2 was hooked up to the Slim G. I immediately knew there was a problem as a chaser told me that I had a pile up yet I couldn’t hear anything. A quick ‘stand by everyone’ and I changed to the Yaesu FT270…problem solved (I’ve got a Sotabeams filter now for the FT2). Those communication towers below seemed to be at the root of the problem. Great activation and to finish the day off we called in to see Gerald MW0WML and Sue for a cup of tea…thanks both.
