A little QRO and s2s

There were quite a few s2s today and Richard G3CWI/p was also out using 2m ssb. It would be the first time for me on Hafod Ithel this year so as the weather looked good I loaded up everything QRO including a nice seat and headed for the summit. I had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 hours on summit playing radio although it did get a bit chilly towards the end as the wind picked up off the sea. This is a lovely first time SOTA summit.

 

Complete with comfortable seat....

SB 3 ele beam on 4m pole...forgot my larger pole at home...it worked nevertheless

My activation set-up

HF:- Yaesu FT857 and 22 Ah LiPo

Antenna - 3 band link dipole (60/40/20 (+15m extensions +80m loading coils)

(VHF) Yaesu FT270 & Yaesu FT2 (5watts) into a ‘cable tie’ dipole + 3 ele beam.

Antenna support – 7m + 4m Fishing poles
