G/DC-006 – Carnmenellis

G/DC-006 – Carnmenellis (1 point)

26/11/2018

Six of Seven

Two hours later and I was on top of Carnmenellis…another wonderful name for a summit. I parked at SW 688363 and followed Phil G4OBK’s route to the summit.

My GPS track
There is some light bracken and gorse bashing to be done but if you follow some of the animal tracks you soon get to the summit via the Open Access land.

Summit and Trig ahead...some gorse and bracken bashing first

Another orderly pile-up with all the familiar voices making my log.  I did pop down to 5.363 and picked up Jorge EA2LU…I think I’ll have to make it a habit to visit this frequency a little more often…it worked well for me in Ireland.

My station just below the trig

Comms tower, trig and Phil's cave

Phil G4OBK and Geoff' M0PYG's cave which they used during their wet activation of the summit

A quick addition of the loading coils and I was away on 80m with five contacts in the log.  It was nice to hear Dan from Sweden calling me and looking for my WAB square and Trig.
