G/DC-003 – Kit Hill
23/11/2018
Two of seven
Well the weather forecast was for heavy rain moving in
during the afternoon so we headed down to Kit Hill which is North of Saltash
(home of Karl M3FEH) and near Plymouth. This is a nice easy drive on summit so
I could quickly pack away and seek shelter back in the car if the heavens
opened up. As it was I had quite a nice
activation with only a few spots of rain during my time on air although the
brolley was by my side.
I was trying out the AlexMic today...it has a built in loudspeaker which performs really well. The KX2 speaker is on the underside of the rig and tends to be muffled. The only problem I have is that there is a delay when the PTT is released meaning that the beginning of callsigns are lost for a fraction of a second....work in progress.
