Finally, a
break in the weather
Pegwn Mawr
GW/MW-006
10/March/2016
Winter bonus
is coming to an end and the weather has really improved so I’m trying to cram
as many summits as possible into the last few days. The blog has been put on
the back burner and it’ll be a few days before I catch up with all the reports.
The summit
of Pegwn Mawr is in the middle of a wind-farm. You can park your car at SO 0085
8080 and then follow the track to the summit cairn and trig. I would suggest
you inform the farmer at Cloesffynnon (that’s what it is on the OS map) that
you are going up and ask where you can park the car…he’s very friendly…just
likes to be asked.
Snow on the mountains in the distance
Summit in sight
I had a busy time on this summit with John GW4TQE/p making
the log with an s2s before I had even got my log book out….thanks John. A good run of chasers followed on 60m with Viki
calling shortly after I had finished with another s2s on 2m…we failed to make a
contact on 70cms..sorry Viki.

Very large wind-farm..Pegwn Mawr
The bands
were behaving today and as you can see I had a really good run on 40m which
kept me busy for quite a while including an s2s with Rod who eventually managed
to sort out his HF antenna problems…thanks Rod
