We had stayed the night at Ludlow to get an early start for the first activation of the day and we made our way in the car via Burway Hill. I just prayed  that I would not meet another car coming down the hill as we made our way up….quite a drop on one side.

This is an easy summit and a good one for a first time activation on either VHF or HF. It was a very nice day, cold but the sun was shining and it was a pleasure to activate this one from close to the trig.

A good run of regular chasers on 60m enabled me to qualify the summit within 2 minutes. I immediately changed the links and 40m proved just as busy so thanks everybody for very orderly pile-ups.

Corndon Hill in the distance...our last summit of the day

I ended the activation with 2 s2s with Ian and James .....thanks both. James had called in earlier to say he was on his way to PyF and had just passed Corn Du…would I hang on …most definitely :)

My activation set up today:-  (HF) Yaesu FT817 (5 watts) (4Ah LiPo),  3 band link dipole (60/40/20),  (VHF) Yaesu FT270 (5watts) & Kenwood TH-F7E  (5watts) - 7m Fishing pole.
