Bench seat with a view

Following Simon G4TJC’s GPS route from SOTA Mapping I reached the summit to be greeted with a fabulous view and a nice bench to set up the station.

2m was buzzing and I think I could have had many more callers if I called a few more times on 145.500. It was great to get Philip on Pen y Fan, Adrian on Titterstone Clee Hill and John on Tal y Fan.

A superb view and room for HF antenna

Once again 80m was disappointing but nevertheless Frank and Chris made my log. Chris had been trying to get me all day…well done Chris. I had expected greater things of 40m and 20m but they were just not working and despite many calls I packed up and left a summit that I would like to return to again someday.
