NARSA Blackpool Radio Rally 2017
08/04/2017-Sunday
Once again Val and I made the long trek North to the NARSA
Blackpool Radio Rally at the Norbreck Castle Hotel. We arrived late on Saturday
afternoon and after booking into our hotel we made our way to meet up with
fellow SOTA and WAB members at the Bispham Fish and Chip shop by 7:00pm. All
this had once again been organised by Dave G4IAR so thank you Dave. It was a chance to put a face to the voice and
I was delighted to meet up with Ian GI0AZA and Esther GI0AZB as we had spoken
over the SOTA airways on so many occasions.

My ET moment..managed to catch a Powered Paraglider flying along the beach
The rally itself took place on the Sunday and was once again
a great success. My particular reason for visiting is to meet fellow SOTA
activators and chasers on the SOTA stand. Yes, I met quite a few but sadly once again I
missed quite a few also as the stalls do tend to have a magnetic effect and entice you away to part with your money
:)
Plenty of stands to entice you to part with your money :)
The SOTA stand manned by Andy MM0FMF, Rob G4RQJ and Audrey with Simon G4TJC (Member of the Summits team) being kept busy explaining the excellent work undertaken by the team.
Val and I left the rally in the afternoon and headed North
once more as we would spend the next few days in the Lake District ticking off
a few unique summits. More reports to follow over the next few days.
