Our second of the day

Park at NY 295042 (National Trust car park).  Head North on the tarmac road and turn right immediately before Bleatarn House then follow the ridge up towards the summit.

Follow the ridge

You need to cross the new stile/gate and then keep the wall on your left to the summit.

We have just come off the ridge on the left and crossed the stile.

A call on 2m brought an immediate response from Dave G6LKB and I soon qualified the summit with John TDM, Geoff WHA and Ken G3BVA making up my four contacts.

A spot for 60m and I had a lovely run of regular chasers, a fairly long chat with Jack GM4COX with Dave G4IAR ending my visit to the band….thanks everyone.

I’d packed everything away and Val had even started her way down when CQ SOTA caught my attention.  I stood on the cairn in the icy cold wind and with the handheld facing towards ‘The Cloud’ G/SP-015,  Ian was soon in my log…good ears Ian…thanks :)

Our exit point...turn left on reaching the road.

My activation set up:-  (HF) Yaesu FT817 (5 watts) (4Ah LiPo),  UK-MX 50M linear (for 817) and (4Ah LiPo),  3 band link dipole (60/40/20 (+15m extensions +80m loading coils),  (VHF) Yaesu FT270 (5watts) into a ‘cable tie’ dipole.. Antenna support - 7m Fishing pole.
