GW/NW-014 – Moel Hebog

GW/NW-014 – Moel Hebog

Another cuckoo in the log...

A suggestion from my friend and one time fellow Sota joint-activator Barry M0IML (International Mountain Leader) to try this route saw me making an early start from home to make sure I had a parking place at Cwrt Isaf SH539463. There is an Honesty Box on a gate and I was the only one that contributed today…plenty of room for 20 cars but evidently not a popular route to Moel Hebog. Heard another cuckoo on my way up.

My GPS track..boggy in places

Ready to go...head for the ladder stile

Another ladder stile...this is where the hard work begins...

The old mines beneath Moel Hebog

I hit the ladder stile too high so had to drop down slightly to cross the wall

After the ladder stile...keep the wall on your right

Looking back down...been there

Is that the trig?

Arrived...view towards Porthmadog

No visitors as yet

As I switched on after erecting the 4m pole and Slim Jim I heard Neil on Easington Fell. He was quickly in my log but others had heard that I had arrived and I was confronted with an almighty pile-up before a spot was up on Sotawatch …. thanks everyone. Frank MW0OFA soon had a spot for me…thanks Frank. It was great to hear from those that had gone /m or /p to get me … another thank you.
