Uniques and
Completes
We were on our way up to Llangollen for a few nights and Val
always suggests we activate a summit on the way to a B&B or Hotel. I
downloaded Gerald MW0WML’s GPX track
from the SOTA Mapping project which
was perfect although I did follow the track as close to the Trig as possible
and not cut up through the field….read his notes also.

Setting up
Activation..up and running
This summit would be an unique and a complete
for me. I started the activation on 2m
managing only 4 contacts. There is plenty of room on top for HF so I took the
opportunity to add my 80m extensions to make a half wave dipole which brought a
good run of chasers followed by 60m which was working just as well.

My activation set up:- (HF) Yaesu FT817 (5 watts)
(4Ah LiPo), UK-MX 50M linear (for 817) and (4Ah LiPo), 3 band link
dipole (60/40/20 (+15m extensions +80m extensions), (VHF) Yaesu
FT270 (5watts) into a ‘cable tie’ dipole.. Antenna support - 7m Fishing pole.
Thanks everyone for
the contacts
