Norbreck 2015
12/04/2015
This was the 53rd N.A.R.S.A Amateur Radio,
Electronics and computing Exhibition and my XYL and I made the long trek North
to Blackpool. I was hoping to meet up with fellow SOTA activators and chasers
during the event including a visit to the WAB stand.
The Norbreck Castle Hotel
Once again the Summits
On The Air stand was a magnet for both chasers and activators alike and I
must admit I spent the majority of my time hovering around here and I thoroughly
enjoyed myself sharing experiences which included picking up tips on how to
tackle some of my planned summits this year and discussing antennas and rigs. I’ll refrain from mentioning individual names
and callsigns but it was a wonderful experience........thanks everybody.

I’d like to thank Dave G4IAR and the guys for the welcome and
chats I had on the Worked All Britain
stand which like the SOTA stand
prevented me from spending too much money at the rally, however, I did have a
‘list’ and managed to get all the bits and pieces I needed :)
It was nice to meet up with John M6HBM from the Carmarthen
ARS who was soaking up the atmosphere and looking for a rig to add to his newly
acquired callsign...well done John.

All being well I’m already looking forward to next year’s
rally but in the mean time I hope to put into practice some of those tips I
picked up this year...73 for now
