Once down off Skiddaw it didn’t take us long to reach the parking space at NY2354 3508 for Binsey. 

 Enough room for quite a few cars

 With only 1.15km to the summit and the voice of John 2E0OAK/p calling from Skiddaw we were soon on top and setting up.  The priority was to get John in the log which we accomplished easily so thank you John as this was to be our one and only s2s from Binsey.

We finished setting up the HF antenna and I settled down and gave a few calls on 2m. Geoff GM4WHA/M was first in with a request for Barry to give him a call on 23cms which resulted in another  good contact with Geoff saying  he would be listening on the other bands.  Next in the log was John G0TDM from Penrith who shortly after that gave Barry his one and only contact on 7Mhz due to band conditions and contest stations.  I happily continued on 2m and had some nice chats :)

Only 4 stations made it into Barry’s log on 5Mhz and when he moved to 14Mhz Geoff was the only reply he received to his CQ calls despite a spot being posted..ah well we tried...should have brought the linear :)

Binsey is a lovely summit,  easily accessible with parking for about 4/5 cars in the lay-by.

  

LD activation set up for both of us:- (HF) Yaesu FT817 + LDG Z817 Autotuner,  5 band link dipole (60/40/20/15/10), (VHF) Yaesu FT270 (5watts) into a ‘cable tie’ dipole.. Antenna support - 7m Fishing pole.
